Sustainability Report 2014

Identification of key issues

Society and businesses alike are facing many different global challenges. In order to establish which topics are relevant to our business activities, we analyze sustainability challenges using a variety of instruments and processes and assess their significance for the company. In doing so, we engage in dialog with sustainability-focused institutions, international rating agencies and analysts, and academia. We also consider the assessment criteria of various financial and sustainabilityoriented ratings and the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI). The results of this continuous process are structured on the basis of our six focal areas for driving sustainable development worldwide through our products and business activities (see graphic).
