The balance between work and family life is very diverse and requires a large variety of inventive and appropriate solutions and implementations. Take, for example, the issues of childcare and eldercare.
Henkel employee Ulrike Schmidt-Freytag drops off her daughter Ella at Die Waschbären (The Raccoons) preschool, which is one of three childcare facilities supported by the company. Together with two other preschools, Gerda Henkel and Kleine Löwen (Little Lions), Henkel is able to offer over 220 full-day spots in Düsseldorf to employees with young children.
In 2013, Die Waschbären (The Raccoons) preschool was the third Henkel preschool to open in Düsseldorf. The Gerda Henkel preschool, which opened in 1940, was one of the first company childcare facilities in Düsseldorf.
In addition, Henkel Social services offers individual counseling as well as organizational and preventive services to support actively a work-life balance for all employees. In order to meet the needs and requirements of our various sites, tailored support is offered by external service providers to the employees.
Henkel looks back on a long tradition of family-friendliness in the company. This is supported by professional assistance for all employees in setting up suitable problem-solving strategies in challenging situations.
