The number of projects supported lies slightly below the same level as the prior year. A more focused selection of projects resulted in an increase in the number of people supported. Employee projects required significantly more days off from work in 2014 than the prior year. Generally speaking, employees may request up to five days off from work per year for volunteer activities. Total donations also increased compared to the prior year.

By joining the Global Compact of the United Nations in 2003, Henkel made a commitment to help achieve the Millennium Development Goals. Through its social engagement, Henkel contributes directly to the attainment of these goals. Henkel does not influence the type of projects proposed under the employee engagement program. Nevertheless, the majority of these projects do indeed contribute to achieving these goals.
