More Henkel Corporate Reporting 2014
Around the world, Henkel sites participate in forward-looking initiatives focusing on sustainability. In many cases, Henkel’s leadership role can help to motivate other local companies to join in. And if prizes are awarded for this commitment by local or even national environmental, business or governmental organizations, then our gratification is two-fold: First, because it acknowledges the ability of our sites in numerous countries around the globe to demonstrate initiative. And second, because recognizing the achievements of our dedicated employees lays the foundation for further improvement at Henkel.
Austria: Henkel came fourth in the sustainability ranking of “Austria’s Leading Companies” conducted by Price Waterhouse Coopers.
Germany: Henkel has received the “Lean and Green Award” by the organization GS1 Germany in recognition of the sustainability credentials of its transport and logistics activities within the Laundry & Home Care business unit. This award, conferred for the first time, honors the efforts made by companies in implementing specific measures to improve sustainability with a verifiable reduction in the CO2 emissions arising from their logistics processes.
Austria: Henkel won the ÖkoBusinessPlan Award for the 11th time. The ÖkoBusinessPlan Award of the Viennese municipality rewards companies for their ecological, resources and energy saving efforts.
Germany: Henkel was ranked first with the Energy Masters Award by the Berliner Manager-Netzwerk Econique. Henkel Laundry & Home Care was rewarded in the category “Holistic Concept” for the Henkel overall sustainability strategy.
Austria: Henkel was awarded second place in the Image Ranking of “Gewinn” business magazine in the category “CSR sustainability.”
Spain: The Spanish Dirigentes business magazine honored Henkel with the Dirigentes Award for Business Excellence in the Corporate Social Responsibility category.
Philippines: Henkel Philippines received the Best Environmental Disclosure Award and a special recognition for Water Management at the Sustainable Business Awards (SBA) Philippines 2014. Organized by the Global Initiatives group in conjunction with Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC), the awards recognize companies who demonstrate sustainable operations in all aspects of their business. Henkel Philippines’ Cabuyao plant won with several projects which targeted amongst others at saving water, reducing waste and minimizing energy usage.
China: Henkel was given recognition in China for its commitment to corporate social responsibility at a special awards ceremony hosted by China Business News. Henkel was awarded in particular for its strong CSR and sustainability communication. In 2014, with the support of the Bureau of Education and Youth Daily, Henkel cooperated with the Shanghai Youth International Cultural Exchange Center to start the “Beautiful China” children’s painting competition.
Germany: Henkel and Interseroh Dienstleistungs GmbH were nominated in the top ten of the GreenTec Awards within the category “Recycling.” The GreenTec Awards focuses innovative green products or projects.
France: Le Chat Eco efficacité has been selected as one of the 26 French best practices in sustainable marketing and Henkel became part of the White Book of Best Pratices in 2014. The selection is made by major French CSR stakeholders like l’Ademe (National Agency for Environment and Energy) or Ethicity (Consultancy for Sustainable Marketing).
Germany: Henkel won the Eco-Care-Award of the German magazine Lebensmittel Praxis in the category “Sustainable Products” with its product Drei Wetter Taft Volumen Powder.
India: Henkel India won the prestigious “Manufacturing Today Award” for “Excellence in Innovation” for the product Loctite PC 7000 High Temperature Abrasion Resistant Coating. The innovative product is a unique three-component rapid setting silica-based composite coating system and its water based system is environmentally friendly.
Benelux: Henkel Benelux Adhesive Technologies collaborated with Care, a Belgian customer, to develop and test an innovative solution for auto-shop repair that saves resources. The jury for the Dave Bebelaar Awards recognized this partnership for sustainable innovation as the most sustainable automotive project.
Hungary: The Henkel Sustainability Ambassador program was selected as “The corporate volunteer program of the year” by the Önkéntes Központ Alapítvány (Volunteer Center Foundation). The aim of the Önkéntes Központ Alapítvány is to support the work of Hungarian volunteers and institutions employing them, to spread the culture of volunteering and integrate it into the social environment.
Slovakia: Henkel received certificates for the participation in the EKOprofit Bratislava Project. Successful worldwide, EKOprofit is a consultancy program recently organized in Slovakia for the first time. The main goal of the project is to raise environmental awareness and reduce corporate costs. The measures taken primarily aiming to reduce energy, material and water consumption, in addition to reducing the amount of waste and CO2 emissions produced.
Serbia: Henkel Serbia was awarded with the Letter of Recognition and a gold coin with the image of Prince Lazar by the Regional Chamber of Commerce Kruševac. Henkel received the award in the field of development with special emphasis on the new Bref factory and the long-term engagement in numerous projects, such as latest technologies for sustainable development.
Spain: Henkel Ibérica was awarded at the 7th edition of the Atlante Awards, a prestigious Spanish competition by Fomento del Trabajo Nacional association, that recognizes best practices in Occupational Risks Prevention. Henkel was awarded first prize in the category “awareness initiatives, training and information” for the project “generating preventive tools.”
France: Henkel received the LSA Award for Diversity and CSR in the category of “Development of Environmental Responsibility” for managers’ commitment to raising awareness on sustainability. LSA, a leading French magazine for the retail industry and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), recognized the best sustainability initiatives led by retailers and FMCG players.
Austria: Henkel was the only company being nominated in two out of four categories and won the DiversCity Award of Vienna for the special category “Ethnical Economies."
Spain: Henkel was awarded with the Social Ministry Award for best practices in equality as one of the most innovative companies in implementing diversity initiatives. It is a recognition of Henkel's change management, work-life flexibility and people management.
Poland: Henkel Poland received an diploma from the SOS Children’s Villages Foundation for its “Child Focus” promotion in Carrefour. The money collected during the promotion was donated to SOS Children’s Village Foundation and helped almost 70 children to get educational support.
Tunisia: Henkel Tunisia received a honor certificate and a medal from the National Center of Blood Transfusion, which is directly linked to the Ministry of Health, to reward the engagement in the blood donation day. The blood donation day was held under the umbrella of “Together for Tunisia.”
Europe: In the Trendence Graduate Barometer 2014 Henkel is among Europe’s 500 most attractive employer brands.
Middle East/Europe: Henkel can consider itself among the most popular employers in the emerging markets, as confirmed by the “Middle East’s Most Attractive Employers” ranking in which students in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Lebanon and Egypt give their preferences. In addition, Henkel is a member of the top 50 most popular employers in Europe – according to an annual survey by Universum among 130,000 European students of various disciplines. Among economics students particularly, Henkel is on the most wanted list.
China: In the ranking of the Best Human Resource Management Companies in 2014, Henkel China won the 2014 Best Campus Employer Branding Award from 51job.com, the largest HR service supplier in China.
